Jane Brotanek, MD, MPH

Jane Brotanek, MD, MPH is delighted to be part of the medical team here at The Center for Advanced Pediatrics. A board-certified pediatrician, she is a dedicated and experienced physician who is passionately committed to the care of children. Fluency in seven languages, including Spanish and French, allows her to care for children from a variety of backgrounds. 

Dr. Brotanek obtained her Bachelor’s degree with Honors in History from Yale University, and obtained her MD from NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Following residency, she completed a three-year fellowship in General Academic Pediatrics at the University of Rochester and graduated with a Master in Public Health (MPH) degree.

While serving on the faculty in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin and at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX, she conducted research focused on improving the health and healthcare of underserved children, particularly minority and poor children with inadequate access to quality healthcare due to language and cultural barriers. 

Dr. Brotanek became one of 15 junior faculty nationwide to receive the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Physician Faculty Scholars Program award. She went on to publish numerous articles and received national as well as international recognition for her work on iron deficiency and early childhood nutrition. 

Dr. Brotanek has been named among Connecticut’s Top Doctors since 2021. In her free time, she loves to travel (Italy, France, Mexico, India, and all over the world) and enjoys writing poetry, listening to music, and playing the piano.
