Visiting our office? Understand our COVID-19 protocols.

In the last month, Connecticut has seen COVID-19 cases surge from zero on November 14th to 2,999 on December 14th. At The Center for Advanced Pediatrics, we’ve seen this massive uptick first hand. More and more children in our offices are being diagnosed with the virus and our providers are doing everything humanly possible to care for them and attempt to prevent serious complications.

Together, our providers and staff and our patient families can work to help prevent the spread of this dangerous illness. We ask for your cooperation as we continue to fight this global pandemic.

Please be reminded of our ongoing COVID precautions:

Masks are required.
For everyone age two and over, masks are required. The masks must cover your family’s faces, from the bridge of the nose to over the chin. Masks should fit snugly all around the edges, with no gaping or drooping. Masks are required everywhere within our facilities.

Fewer people, fewer infections.
To limit the amount of people in our offices, just one adult caregiver should be present at your child’s appointment. We also ask that only the child receiving care come to our offices. Whenever possible, please leave siblings at home with a caregiver. Fewer people allow us all to better social distance, stay at least 6 feet away from each other, and decreases possible virus spread.

Sanitized rooms for your safety.
Our continued heightened sanitation efforts include a thorough disinfection of each room after each exam or visit, especially high touch areas like tables and door handles. Each evening, a virucide is applied to all our exam rooms and common areas, providing extra protection to our staff and our patient families.

COVID-19 spreads through droplets when an infected person sneezes, coughs or exhales. The very best way to prevent COVID-19 and its complications is to get everyone in your family age 5 and older fully vaccinated and, if possible, boosted immediately.

Stay at least 6 feet from people not in your household and wear a mask in public, especially indoors. Avoid crowded spaces. Wash hands often and thoroughly. If anyone is your family has a fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, runny nose or congestion, call our office immediately.

If you are concerned about the COVID-19 vaccination for your child or for yourself, please message your provider. We are here to thoroughly answer all your questions.

Working together, we can end this deadly virus. Variants such as delta and now omicron develop and mutate when the disease is allowed to spread. Getting vaccinated and using COVID-19 precautions can end the spread and end the pandemic.
