The economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic has been severe, with many parents suddenly unable to provide food, housing, or clothing for their families. Along with a still-climbing unemployment rate of over 8%, food insecurity has more than doubled across Connecticut. Nearly one in four families is now food insecure – and there is a 60% increase in the need for food from social service agencies.
To help our families and their children in need, The Center for Advanced Pediatrics has partnered with Person-to-Person.
Through March 12th, our offices will be contactless donation sites for non-perishable food items. If you’ve been economically stable during these troubling times, we hope you will consider donating to help feed our children:
When you arrive with your donation, please call our office. We’ll send someone to your vehicle and collect your donation curbside. If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please click here.
Our goal is to collect enough food to feed a family of four for an entire year. We know the spirit of generosity and kindness that thrives in our patient families and we encourage that spirit all the more over this next month.
Please donate, either in food or in funds, to the TFCAP P2P Food Drive!
